AA Opportunities for American Eagle Pilots
American Airlines is extending an opportunity to American Eagle pilots hired after
October, 2011, to interview for a pilot position with American Airlines.
The criteria to qualify for this interview include your completion of 2,000 flight
hours at American Eagle, followed by a written recommendation from an American Eagle
Chief Pilot that you be interviewed by American; and, the positions at American
for Eagle pilots having flow through opportunities all must have been previously
filled. You must also meet the non-flight hour American pilot hiring criteria at
the time that you apply, and American must be hiring pilots in order to be eligible
for an interview with American.
American’s and American Eagle’s respective Flight Departments have worked together
to provide this opportunity, which we believe will create the best flight career
path in the industry. This opportunity will continue to exist even if American Eagle
is divested from AMR at some future date.
This opportunity to Eagle pilots will provide American with a valuable source of
experienced, highly trained pilot recruits already familiar with American’s routes,
airports, operations, and operating systems. Moreover, it will provide selected
Eagle pilots a desirable path for further career progression at the premier major
air carrier in the U.S.
American Eagle is planning to hire over 600 pilots this year and projects continued
hiring through 2014 as American Eagle pilots take advantage of flow-through opportunities
to American Airlines.
