Job Description: Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Base Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
Responsible to the Maintenance Manager for the efficient performance of the personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
§ Supervise and assist assigned personnel to accomplish maintenance functions in accordance with CAMP in a safe and efficient manner.
§ Responsible for quality and quantity of all aircraft maintenance work assigned and ensure all maintenance is performed IAW Colgan Air Maintenance Manuals and established policies and procedures.
§ Ensures the adequacy, correctness and completion of all associated and required documentation for all maintenance work performed or inspections conducted.
§ Coordinated as necessary with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Control, Inspection or Lead Mechanics on all work assignments, work progress, delays and manpower requirements.
§ Ensure proper shift turnover procedures for all work in-progress, completed or carried over.
§ Ensure on-the-job training is accomplished by utilizing the “Electronic” OJT File to promote and monitor employee progress.
§ Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
§ Assume responsibility for DMIs and MELs to ensure timely troubleshooting, ordering parts, and entry of information into CAMP to ensure timely completion of all work scheduled.
§ Assume responsibility for tools at the assigned base and that all tools are properly calibrated and serviceable at all times.
§ Ensure compliance of company policies and safety procedures.
§ Ensure personnel are qualified and authorized to perform the duties assigned.
§ Maintain the work areas, buildings, materials, equipment and tooling in a safe, clean and operative condition.
§ Assume management responsibility in connection with effectively recommending hiring and firing of employees, along with promotion and disciplining employees by virtue of recommendation and personnel evaluations.
§ Maintain a current FAA Airman certificate with Airframe and Power plant rating.
§ Accomplish performance evaluations of personnel as required.
§ Monitor and manage daily activity of component shop repair work order (wheels, tires, NiCad batteries, etc.)
§ Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the Base Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
§ Three years experience in aircraft maintenance
§ One year experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
§ Knowledge of CFRs, aviation safety standards, safe operating practices, and the Operations Specifications.
§ Must have A&P License.
§ SAAB experience, Turbo Props experience, would prefer 121 supervisory experience.
§ Availability for shift work, weekends and holidays.
§ High School Diploma or GED
