First Officer Positions

Thank you for your interest in a First Officer position with Comair Airlines. Comair is a leading regional airline with a fleet of state-of-the-art Bombardier CRJ aircraft. Comair currently offers its customers over 1000 flights a day to 100 cities in 3 countries. Comair is always looking for enthusiastic people to join our team of nearly 6200 aviation professionals.

The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with a Multi-engine airplane & Instrument Rating
  • ATP Preferred - ATP Written Required
  • Current First Class Medical Certificate
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Must have a Valid Passport
  • High School Diploma or equivalent: College Degree Preferred
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
  • 600 Total Flight Hours
  • 100 Multi-Engine Hours

PAY:

Pilots are paid based on the number of flight hours flown each month. A reserve pilot will receive a minimum of 75 credit hours per month. Line holder pay is based on 82 to 92 hours and is paid on the higher of scheduled or actual flight time. Our pay scales are negotiated by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) and are the highest in the regional airline industry.

BENEFITS:

Medical: Comair offers full-time employees and their eligible dependents medical coverage options. Medical coverage options are based on the employee's permanent address. The medical plans are administered through Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Comair offers full-time employees and their eligible dependents dental insurance through MetLife. Full time employees and eligible dependents enrolled in a medical plan automatically participate in the Vision Care Plan.

Savings and Investment Plan (401k): Employees are eligible to participate in the plan immediately. The company matches a percentage of your contributions after one year of service. An employee becomes fully vested in the company match after two years of service.

Travel: Employee, employee's spouse, and dependent children will receive free unlimited domestic travel on the Delta network. You will also receive 18 days of free international travel per year on the Delta network. Parents of employee will receive 18 free domestic/transoceanic travel days per year and unlimited service charge passes on the Delta network. Single employees may choose to designate a companion who is eligible for unlimited space available yield fare travel. You will also receive 8 pass rider coupons per year that allows friends and other family members travel at a low cost.

Pilot Domiciles:

Comair Pilots are assigned to one of two domiciles:

  • CVG
  • JFK

TRAINING:

Comair's ground training is conducted in our corporate headquarters at the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport in state-of-the-art classrooms with automated visual aids. Flight training will be conducted in one of five level D simulators on sight in CVG. Additional training equipment Comair Pilots utilize is computer workstations and Cockpit Procedure Trainers (CPT).

RESERVE:

New Pilots are assigned to reserve flying and must be available to fly on a 14-hour standby basis when on reserve. While on reserve, pilots must be able to report to work with a minimum of 90 minutes notice. Reserve pilots can plan on 11 to 12 days off a month, and will be on reserve for the first 10 to 14 months of employment.
