QC, Heavy Check Representative

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  
 
Works under the supervision of the Director, Quality Control as the Quality Control Heavy Check Representative for Pinnacle Airlines at contract facilities. Monitors and controls use of Pinnacle plans, policies and procedures relative to the maintenance, safety and reliability of aircraft undergoing major inspection.  Also ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.  Oversees all aspects of the heavy check process including inventory, shipping, paperwork, data entry, records transfer, component repair, and warranty, training and engineering liaison ensuring Pinnacle Airlines processes and procedures are followed .  Also maintains communication with other Pinnacle departments to ensure timely action on all issues pertaining to the heavy check program.
 
OTHER FUNCTIONS: 
 
Conducts daily over-site with site teams to ensure aircraft checks are on being completed IAW Pinnacle Airlines GMM. Continuously fosters a positive working relationship with vendor personnel while conveying Pinnacles expectations for the highest standards of safety, workmanship quality, and program execution to plan This includes continuous observation of maintenance being performed at the site, approval and coordination of repairs, providing technical data and answering technical questions raised by the vendor and acting as a liaison between the vendor and various Pinnacle technical support departments. Regularly performs audits of vendor to supplement QA over-site. Maintains regular contact with Vendor and Pinnacle Training Departments to ensure proper training, qualifications and authorizations are maintained by all personnel. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) as may be assigned from time to time.
 
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Must possess the ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing. Must be able to use personal computers for both word-processing and data input functions. Must be able to use ladders, work stands, lifts, etc. and be able to work on all areas of the aircraft that may require access during performance of duties.
 
 
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work is performed at facilities under contract to perform maintenance for Pinnacle Airlines at various locations.  Requires a professional contact with business relationships and FAA. 
 
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Graduate or equivalent...or any combination of education and experience, which enables one to perform the job functions. Must hold a valid Airframe and Powerplant mechanics license and have successfully completed the Systems Course for Fleet Type of aircraft undergoing inspection. Current Pinnacle Airlines Company Qualifications: RII, AR, Parts Receiving. Knowledge of or ability to understand contracts and operate within contract guidelines.
 
 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  
 
In-depth commercial jet and heavy maintenance experience. Analytical, managerial, and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail. May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays. Track and evaluate, on a continuing basis, the quality of the substantial maintenance work accomplished by the vendor. Notify the Pinnacle Director, Quality Control immediately if the quality of work becomes unsatisfactory.
