We are looking for talented, military-trained helicopter aviators to join Team Frontier as part of our Rotor Transition Program. We will assist with funding of the fixed-wing transition training, the ATP/CTP and the Jet Transition Course. In addition, our RTP candidates are assigned a mentor to help them with the transition from the military to commercial aviation. Job Summary

The First Officer is responsible for delivering great customer service, while ensuring safe and timely flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. The duties of the First Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the safe and timely completion of flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
  • Responsible for the operation of the aircraft during the designated period of duty unless relieved by Company authority. This involves weekend, holiday and night operations.
  • Through completion of appropriate pre and post-flight inspection, ensures the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft.
  • Becomes familiar with existing and forecast departure, arrival, and if applicable, alternate station weather prior to each flight.
  • Ensures that the flight is planned and fueled properly so that it may be conducted safely.
  • Assists with and ensures proper handling of aircraft, passenger, baggage, and cargo at terminal points and keeps an awareness of an on-time departure.
  • Notifies crew and passengers promptly of turbulence, adverse weather conditions or any other operational factors affecting the flight.
  • Ensures that the load manifest for a flight is reviewed and the passenger count is verified prior to each departure.

Rotor Transition Program Requirements/Qualifications (Minimums)

Note: these minimum requirements are specific to our Rotor Transition Program.

  • Eligible for 14 CFR 61.160 Restricted
  • Must meet 750 hours total time upon completion of the RTP. Total time must include the following airplane time:
    • 250 Hours of fixed-wing (FW) PIC
    • 100 Hours of FW PIC Cross Country
    • 25 Hours of FW PIC Night
    • 25 Hours of FW Multi
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit
  • Valid US Passport, with machine readable print, and the ability to travel in and out of the United States or valid foreign passport with authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be a graduate of a military flight academy
  • Must have a DD214 or be within 12 months of separating from active duty to apply to the Rotor Transition Program
  • Must be eligible for the FAA R-ATP military minimums per 14 CFR 61.160
  • Must be available to complete Frontier Airlines First Officer New Hire Training from INDOC to through IOE without interruption
  • Ability to travel in and out of all the cities/countries served by Frontier Airlines
  • Ability to relocate
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, nights, holidays and overnight trips, including "red eyes."
  • Ability and desire to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks
  • Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS) preferred

    • Ability to adjust to flying schedule, including day/night flying.
