Kalitta Air is seeking pilot applicants interested in working in the challenging environment of providing Global Airlift. We have scheduled runs that take our pilots around the globe, as well as AdHoc trips into parts of the world that are not only challenging, but rewarding on many levels.

Position Purpose

Safely assist the Captain and crew, through the use of Crew Resource Management (CRM), in operating the aircraft in accordance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing preflight inspections of the aircraft and freight.
  • Assisting the crew with the necessary paperwork.
  • Operating the aircraft with precise attention to policy, regulations and procedures.
  • Calling attention to any unsafe condition while on the ground or in-flight.
  • Performing post-flight inspections of the aircraft.

Qualifications

  • FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate – Unrestricted
  • 2,000+ total time preferred; 1,700 total minimum
  • 700 hours multi-engine minimum
  • 500 turbine (Jet) flight time preferred
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • FCC Radio License
  • No restrictions on international travel
  • Current U.S. Passport
  • Ability to pass a 10-year security background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Compensation & Schedule

  • $117/hr. first-year pay with a 64-hour monthly guarantee
  • Full flight pay beginning on day one of training
  • All flying on off days paid at 150% of hourly rate
  • 16 days on, 15 days off schedule (14 days off in a 30-day month)
  • Pilots have the option to bid for the more common 16 days in a row schedule or, split schedules (8 days on, 15 days off, 8 days on, for example) when available
  • No junior manning
