PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Piedmont Airlines is one of the first regional airlines to launch a Military Transition Program that now creates a clear path for highly experienced aviators wishing to transition from a military helicopter to an airline pilot career. The MTP initiative is just one other way Piedmont Airlines offers the most comprehensive benefits to its pilots. Piedmont Airlines is one of the fastest-growing regional airline in the country, with the quick upgrade, and a true pilot-flow-through agreement to American. Your career as a mainline pilot for the largest airline in the world can start here. Eligibility as a First Officer begins up to six months prior to leaving the active duty Armed Forces. Drilling reservists and Guard pilots are also encouraged to apply as much as six months prior.

Our Military Transition Program aims to help all military pilots obtain the fixed-wing ratings and/or time building that is required in order to meet the qualifications for the restricted ATP minimums, per the FAA. Additionally, if you are a military pilot with fixed-wing experience already, Piedmont can provide assistance to ensure you meet the restricted ATP minimums, if you are just short of those qualifications.
