Because an increasing amount of air carriers are offering Direct Entry Captain (DEC) positions, they have requested more insight into applicants' FAR 121.436 qualifying time. This regulation governs the minimum requirements for a person to be an aircraft commander (i.e. Captain) for a Part 121 air carrier. Therefore, we have released a new interface on the My Flight Time —> By Aircraft page.
To access this window, select the desired aircraft's "Edit" button. This new format is split into three columns, and the third column allows you to categorize your aircraft's type of flying. To assist in understanding the requirements, we've inserted information icons that when hovered over provide a pop-up window containing the applicable FAR verbiage for each option.
With the release of this new format, and at the request of our airlines, we're asking applicants to update their existing entries as it only takes a brief moment to complete.
