One year ago, we released the new Certificates & Ratings (Certs & Ratings) design (read here). This past weekend, we released an enhancement for employers that leverages the new Certs & Ratings design, allowing companies to refine their search settings to better fit their unique operations. For those active job hunters who have not yet updated their certificates section with the new design, doing so helps maximize your visibility to recruiters.
Your most recent certificate entered is your controlling certificate with respect to qualification. While previous certificate entries provide recruiters with a training progression timeline, they do not supersede or contribute to your most recent certificate entry. That means if a company requires an Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL) and an Airplane Multi Engine Land (AMEL) rating, but an applicant lists their ASEL in a previous certificate entry only and then omits it from their most recent AMEL entry, they will not meet that qualification requirement.
Your controlling and most recent certificate appears first in any list of certificates directly below the text Certificates and Ratings, and is identified by a bounded box/line on your printed application.
